Sayama-Cha (Saitama & Tokyo)

There is a saying, “Color is for Shizuoka, Flavor is for Uji, however Sayama wins Taste”.

Sayama-Cha farms are located in the northernmost among the large tea farms in Japan. Tea leaves grows in cold climates produce a rich and natural sweet taste. The tea industry of Sayama has been developed since the process of steaming was established for the first time in the Kanto region in the Edo era (1603 – 1868 ).

The area under tea leaf cultivation is bigger than any other areas under cultivation in Saitama Prefecture.

Sayama-Cha is in a stable position as a local specialty. For your information, the office of CHA-Link is close to Sayama though it is located in Tokyo.
