Who is Rica Takeuchi?

Rica Takeuchi is the founder of CHA-Link Inc. Also the First Miss Tea Ambassador of Japan, a Master of Japanese Leaf Tea (Sencha) Ceremony, Japanese tea Instructor or Sommelier,  and a Mindfulness Specialist      Rica Takeuchi manages this website about Japanese tea, CHA-Link. Also she has developed a new type of meditation with tea “cha-link” and started sharing the idea with people in and out side of Japan. Rica’s background

  • Rica Takeuchi was born on August 10 1989 in a family that was running a tea shop in Higashikurume, Tokyo 
  • She graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University with an English and American Literature degree. Also she majored in Recreation and Tourism Management in San Diego State University for one year as an exchange student. After studying abroad, she experienced an internship at the tourist office of San Diego in Tokyo. She won a scholarship by Masatochi Kumagai, the founder of GMO Internet Inc.
  • After graduation, Rica Takeuchijoined a program of the Official Development Assistance under Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in 2014. She worked for the marketing office of the Ministry of Tourism, Timor-Lest for 2 years as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer. She was especially in charge of marketing for an international mountain bike stage race, Tour de Timor and succeeded in raising the number of participants from abroad in 2015 more than double number in 2014. After finishing her mission as a JOCV, she accepted an offer from the Ministry of Youth & Sport, Timor-Leste to be a marketing and hospitality adviser for the Tour de Timor and Dili Marathon in 2016. Finally came back to Japan after completing her duty in Timor-Leste in the end of 2016
  • Rica Takeuchi has decided to contribute to her own country after her experiences in Timor-Leste when she came back to Japan. So she founded CHA-Link holding a vision to link people from different worlds through Japanese tea
  • Rica Takeuchi has been honored to be the First Miss Tea Ambassador of Japan to spread the beauty of Japanese tea around the world by winning a Tea Ambassador Contest organized by the Tea Association of Japan 2018
  • She has developed cha-link tea mindfulness – purify yourself and grow your inner peace – and is now focusing on sharing this idea with people domestically and internationally
  • Unintentionally Rica Takeuchiestablished CHA-Link Inc to start a company on August 6, 2020 – Hiroshima Peace Memorial Day. Her passion for World Peace has grown even stronger
  • Rica Takeuchi also works for different types of projects from international and Japanese organizations and companies :

  • Lecturer at Higashikurume Citizens’ Collage (2020)
  • Interpreter between English and Japanese for Japan Para-cycling Federation ( 2017 until now )
  • Interpreter between English and Japanese & Coordinator of a social program to think about your happiness held in Portland, the USA ” ( 2018 )
  • Business development director for Shares Ltd,.  (a Japanese startup specialized in developing  algorithms and tools for corporate analysis. She presented the ideas and solutions in front of investors and won at a pitch contest, Tokyo Startup Dating among 9 startups. (2016~2018)
  • Lecturer of international cooperative volunteering work at Aoyama Gakuin University (2017)
