昨年度、東京都東久留米市が年に２回発行している情報誌「ときめき」にインタビューを載せていただいたのをきっかけに、コロナ禍地元に閉じこもっている間、とっても嬉しい機会を頂戴しました☺️ (English below) 東久留米市民大学にて地元の人生の大先輩たちに、少し思い切ったテーマで講義をさせて頂きました🙇 概念で理解する以上に実際に体感してもらうことができればいいなと思い、一緒にゆっくり呼吸をしたりして、コロナで接触が避けられる今、距離があっても心を繋げられるように丁寧にお伝えするように努めました😌 幼稚園から一緒だったお友達のお母さんや、父とお仕事ご一緒されている方、叔母との知り合いなどローカルなつながりの参加者が何人もいらっしゃって、そういう場でお話するのは初めてだったので、新鮮であると共になんだかホーム感があってぽかぽかとする気持ちになりました🌸 これまで外国人や、若い人たちを中心にやってきたことが、私の両親以上の世代の皆様に伝わるか、少し心配していたところもありましたが、自分の子供よりも年下の私の話にも皆さん真剣に耳を傾けてくれ、また、躊躇なく一緒にプチ・マインドフルネス・セッションにもお付き合い下さりました。（私は歴代最年少講師だったらしいです😳恐縮です） 最後には素敵な感想もたくさんいただき、あぁ、大丈夫だ、ちゃんと誰とでも心は繋がるんだと再認識しました。 去年はほぼ毎月海外出張で、外にばかり目が向いていた私でしたが、今後も地元で私の思いがお茶と共に届らえる機会ができればなと心から感じた時間でした。 国境、文化、宗教、性別、世代も越えて、【グローカルに！】お茶を通じてたくさんの人の心に穏やかさと優しさを育てるお手伝いをしていきたいです！ I had a lovely time during this corona time staying in my hometown, Higashikurume, Tokyo thanks to the opportunity last year that my interview was published on a magazine "Tokimeki" issued by the municipal office of Higashikurume every 6 moths☺️ I had this amazing opportunity to give a lecture at Higashikueume Citizens' Collage. I decided to pick a topic that could be challenging for the local senior audiences🙇 In class, I tried to invite them to experience it more than just to understand its concept😌 So we took a deep breath together... and I tried to communicate with them heart to heart so we can connect to each other under the circumstances that we cannot contact each other with certain distance for the virus. There were a mom of my friend from kindergarten, some people working with my dad, and a person who knew my aunty. I really felt at home but it also felt new to me because it was my first time to speak in front of the local people like this. To be honest at first I was not sure that my ideas that had been appreciated by foreigners and young people would also come across with the people who were of my parents' generation or over. However they actually really tried to understand what I was talking about and didn't hesitate to try brief mindfulness sessions with me who was younger than their children! - I was the youngest lecturer in the collage's history hehe. Thank you very much for this opportunity 😊

This photo is full of amazing Japan's features: a tea field, cherry blossoms (Sakura), Kimono... and a Japanese girl? Hahah This stunning cherry tree is called "Ushinshiro no Mizume Zakura" and has been blooming every spring in Kawane, Shimada, Shizuoka prefecture. I always enjoy finding a new aspect of Japanese te I always enjoy finding a new aspect of Japanese tea. Japanese green tea brewed with cold water will give you a new impression about green tea. Bitter and astringent compounds in tea leaves are infused at high temperature so this cold green tea provides a beautiful and refreshing sweet flavour. How to make it? It's easy! Put 10g of tea leaves in a 1l bottle of water and leave it in a refrigerator for 1 hour. Please try 😊💚
